SHIPPING AND STORAGE
SERVICES
I. Legal Age
Wines may be sold and delivered only to a person who
is at least 21 years of age. In placing your order,
you represent to us that you are at least 21 years old
and that you are also the person to whom the wines will
be delivered. At the time of delivery, all shipments
containing alcohol require the signature of an adult,
who may also be asked to furnish proper identification
proving he or she is at least 21 years of age. Shipping
to a business address is strongly recommended since
an adult signature is required at the time of delivery.
II. Shipping Arrangements
Title to, and ownership of, all wine passes from casa del vino
to the purchaser at the time of purchase and
the purchaser takes all responsibility for the shipping
of same from casa del vino to his or her location. By
arranging for transportation of the wine, casa del vino is providing a service to, and acting on behalf of,
the purchaser. By utilizing this service from casa del
vino, the purchaser is representing that he or she is
acting in a fashion compliant with his or her local
and state laws regarding the purchase, transportation
and delivery of wine.
The purchaser represents that
he or she has obtained any required permission, paid
any required fees, is working through properly licensed
intermediaries where required, is legally entitled to
take possession of wine and is legally entitled to take
quantities ordered.
For a summary of state laws, see
the Wine Institute website (www.wineinstitute.org).
III. State Shipping Laws
Wine shipments can be made to the following states:
Alaska, California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida,
Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada,
New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Washington,
West Virginia, Wisconsin and
Wyoming. Sales
tax will not be charged for shipments to these states.
If you live in a state where the
direct shipment of wine violates the law, we suggest
that you move to another state. No, but seriously…
we suggest that you provide an alternative address in
another state, or ship your wine to a third party storage
facility in a direct-shipping friendly state.
In some cases, however, other shipping arrangements can be
made -- please direct inquiries to info@casadelvino.net.
IV. Weather Conditions, Packaging,
and Storage
Prolonged exposure to heat or freezing temperatures
can damage wine. Although we ship using insulated styrofoam
containers, this will not ensure protection against
temperature extremes. We recommend that you consider
current weather conditions when you place your order,
and that if you wish to have your order held until conditions
change, you let us know at the time you place your order.
We will gladly store your wine for up to 180 days at
no charge in order to facilitate shipping under suitable
weather conditions.
V. Shipping Rates
When you view your shopping cart and complete the order
request form, you will notice that the shipping field
will remain blank. The actual shipping charges can only
be accurately calculated when the package weight, shipping
method, and insurance are included. Consequently, we
can only estimate the charges based upon the following
averages:
one case: $20-30 UPS Ground ($1.75 to 2.50 per bottle)
$35-50 2nd day Air ($3.00 to 4.25 per bottle)
